Lithuanian E-invoicing: via PEPPOL to SABIS

For over five years, e-invoicing has been mandatory for Business-to-Government (B2G) transactions in Lithuania. From September 2024 all invoices must be submitted through SABIS, Lithuania’s new invoice administration system, which replaced the previous platform, E. Sąskaita. The transition to SABIS was driven by the need to align Lithuanian businesses with the European e-invoice infrastructure via the PEPPOL network. SABIS offers businesses three ways to submit invoices:
- Manual Entry via the SABIS Web Portal
Suitable for companies that issue only a few invoices per month. - Universal API Interface
Enables automated data exchange between SABIS and a company’s accounting software. - PEPPOL Network
Facilitates the exchange of e-invoices not only with the Lithuanian government but also with trade partners across Europe and globally.
