From September 2019, Gristel Tali will take over as the new COO of Telema. Hele Hammer is handing over all responsibility for operational management and will continue as Telema’s CEO. She will also remain responsible for general business development and strategy.
Hele Hammer has been in Telema for more than 19 years. Under her leadership, the company has become the number 1 EDI operator in Baltics. Hele has been with Telema since the company was founded, first as a financial manager and later as general manager. Hele comments the news: “In 2009 I returned from Amserv to Telema to become a temporary CEO until we find someone to replace me. As it turns out, it wasn’t so temporary after all, as it has taken over 10 years for me to hand over the baton.“
In June, Telema’s new COO Gristel Tali sold Lehe Pruulikoda, a company she founded with her husband back in 2013. She has previously worked in numerous executive positions at BCS Itera at Columbus IT Partner Estonia, as well as the HR general manager in Eesti Energia.
Gristel says: “I am very happy to start my cooperation with Hele and Telema’s team. My goal is to grow Telema’s business, develop relationships with existing customers and help to make their business processes more efficient. While working in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) industry, I have always followed Telema’s development. I have also been on the opposite side of the table as Telema’s customer while selling craft beers to retail chains. I was very satisfied with Telema services and I value highly the work that has been put into Telema so far.”
Hele Hammer and Gristel Tali have cooperated already for many years. Hele didn’t think long before she made an offer to Gristel. “Actually, the first time I tried to recruit Gristel to Telema was in 2010. In summer of 2019, after reading from Äripäev that Gristel sold her company, I called her right away again.” Over the years, Hele and Gristel have cooperated on both IT-related and educational projects. For example, they have both participated in creation of the Estonian Qualification Standard of Supply Chain Manager and have lectured at the TalTech’s supply chain master’s programme.
